I have a mac air (newest version) and I need a router that will give me a reliable connection within my townhouse but still be compatible wirelessly with Xbox360 (I use a lot for Netflix streams) and occasionally PC's...
I was thinking about an Apple Airport Extreme but I'm worried it won't interact well the Xbox/PC's...anyone have any suggestions? 8/5/2010 1:49:56 AM |

why would you think that it wouldn't interact well with Xbox/PCs? 8/5/2010 9:25:24 AM |

I'm refraining from posting a really snarky comment right now. 8/5/2010 9:34:43 AM |

The real question is why shell out for the apple product? Did you think the computer won't work on a wireless N or equivalent from best buy for 1/2 the cost? 8/5/2010 10:28:15 AM |

Sorry i didn't mean to imply i needed an airport. This was just the most recent thread on routers and I figured i'd ask about linksys or similar routers. Just didn't know if anyone had any suggestions on a good wireless N router. 8/13/2010 7:21:38 PM |

I just bought the high end netgear n6000 or something like that, and it is amazing. Dual band and 2 guest networks. Easy nas setup (doesn't work with HFS formated drives though). For about 30 bucks cheaper than the airport extreme, I would say go for it.
The only thing the extreme really has going for it is the ability to plug in a usb hub into the back of it and have all your networked devices shared quickly and easily. 8/14/2010 10:55:51 AM |

I agree, I've got like 7 Mac devices and a nintendo running off of a high-end netgear. 8/14/2010 1:28:23 PM |
