"The Powells are about to go from ordinary to extraordinary. After 16 years of marriage, Jim and Stephanie's relationship lacks the spark it once had, and their family life now consists of balancing work and their two children, leaving little time for family bonding. During a family vacation set up by Jim in an attempt to reconnect, their plane crashes into the Amazon River. But this is where the fun starts for the Powells, as they soon discover that something's not quite right. Each of them now possesses unique and distinct superpowers. But saving and savoring their family life will be equally important, as they try to find purpose for their new powers and embark on a journey to find out what defines and unifies them. The Powells are a totally relatable family who happen to be a little bit amazing.

Michael Chiklis (The Shield) stars as Jim Powell, Julie Benz (Dexter) as Stephanie Powell, Romany Malco (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) as George St. Cloud, Tate Donovan (Damages) as Mitch McCutcheon, Autumn Reeser as Katie Andrews, Christina Chang as Yvonne Cho, Kay Panabaker as Daphne Powell and Jimmy Bennett as JJ Powell.

The pilot was written and executive-produced by Jon Feldman. The series is executive-produced by Feldman, Greg Berlanti, Morgan Wandell and David Semel, who also directed the pilot. Joe Hartwick, Jr. serves as producer. No Ordinary Family is from ABC Studios."

On in September. I doubt this one's going to make it. I think people are just getting burned out on superheroes, vampires, werewolves, and so on.

But I do like Julie Benz.

Wasn't terrible. At least it wasn't another cop or medical drama.

Just watched it and kinda enjoyed it. Discovering the powers was pretty cool, but we'll see how it develops along the season. As stated though, thank God its not another damn cop/doc drama!

The daughter looked about 8 years younger than her boyfriend.

The daughter threw me off because she looked familiar. She played Katherine's teenage kid on CSI since like 2003. She's now 20, but playing a lot younger. Big surprise.

For those who watch the show...I have 2 questions from this week's episode....

1. How did the guy working for the chick's boss know to be "hiding in the shadows" whenever the bald guy threw the van and nabbed the crook?

2. How did the same guy know to show up for that chick's blind date at the end of the episode?

Is there something I'm missing?

^ I had those same exact questions. Thought I missed something too. I was still under the impression he had no idea about any of their abilities to begin with.

^He doesn't know for sure, but he is suspicious. When Steph switched the vial of her blood he watched the tape, and saw that the container changed slightly.

Anyone still watching? It has been pretty decent lately, but the last episode really annoyed me.
It featured Victoria, the red-headed shape shifter...

There were a couple times when it was painfully obvious that she was "impersonating" someone...but i guess they felt the need for her to transform right in close proximity to people just so the audience would realize it was really her.... ie. in the powell house at the beginning and right outside after she convinces daphne to leave.

then at the end when "jim" was laying on the floor dead... she didn't transform back until Stephanie and Jim were together there at the same moment...lame..

I liked the episode, just got annoyed at those parts

Yeah, it did feel like they tried to dumb down some of those scenes where they thought the audience may not have realized it was actually the shape shifter. But, even before they revealed their hand I thought it was pretty obvious. Still, I like this show and I think the character development has been done well so I'll continue to watch.

I agree. I wasn't sure about it for the first few episodes, but it has really gotten better lately.

I mean it's not like I wasn't enjoying it, I just forgot all about it (like I do with most every show LOL)
