I just moved up to Boston and got cable/HBO/showtime and a DVR after not having cable for a while. I know it's the off-season for a lot of network shows, but I figured maybe there's stuff on HBO/Showtime that I don't even know of. I figure you guys might know some stuff that's on now that I could get into.

Make some suggestions and I'll check it out!

try out Rubicon on AMC, the first 3 episodes may be on an on-demand channel by now, for TWC it's primetime on demand, but i dunno what they have in Boston

Dexter is a good showtime show, not sure if it's in season 5 yet or not

Dexter Season 5 starts in a few weeks. Spend time with OnDemand and catch up.

I do love Braking Bad, though I thought the season had ended. Maybe not. I'll give a lot of these other shows a check out too. I'll probably record a lot of smaller shows I wouldn't normally make it a point to sit down and watch, but will want something to fill time with.

I think if I check eztv on a regular basis, I can see what shows are being added, and if I'd prefer to watch/record any of them.

Great suggestions, keep em coming.

i second Rubicon. Also, The Colony Season 2 on Discovery if you are into survival/reality type shows. This fall HBO will have the mini-series Boardwalk Empire which i'm looking forward to a lot, should be really good.

Weeds s6 starts Monday on showtime. The last few seasons have been kinda meh, but I'll still watch.

^Boardwalk Empire starts Sept 19th, and I agree, it looks like it will be pretty good.

The breaking bad season did end but I believe they still have episodes on demand. Still my favorite show on television.

words coming from the TCA and press tours is that Boardwalk Empire could become a ground breaking series with enough juice to last a decade. I am pumped

If that's the new HBO show with Buscemi I am pumped as hell for that. It's one of the main reasons we kept HBO...

watch the wire if season 1 is on HBO on demand. it's an absolutely phenomenal show.

definitely get caught up on dexter if it's on demand, californication as well. weeds isn't bad although the first two seasons were a lot better than the more recent ones imo.

I like how you people completely ignore the fact that the OP asked for shows that are on NOW, not for shows that air in the fall when there are a million shows airing new episodes.

yes, yes i do...but the fact that it stars David Spade and Patrick Warburton pretty much guarantees it's terrible, not to mention the fact that the Indian character on that show is one of the most offensive stereotypes currently on TV (at least until Outsourced starts).

Not on HBO or anything, but Justified. Seriously. Awesome show.

Also, I concur with Jersey Shore... and Intervention.
