HP ZE2315US Laptop has a screen that first appeared to be dead. The screen is actually working, its just very very dark. If i put a flash light to the screen I can see the display. Im guessing the inverter is bad or the back light is bad. How do i tell which is bad? and whats the best place to buy these parts?

I checked online places and inverters go from $15 - 45.

Curious, how does it do with an external display?

had this issue with a past laptop. Ordered the replacement inverter from ebay and fixed it and it worked fine. It burnt out again within a week and ordered a different inverter. Same thing happened. I was completely fed up with it and didn't think ordering an entire LCD screen was worth it so I got a new laptop after using an external monitor for a few months.
