Persistent browser game, very similar to early civilization-type games. Get minerals, build army, don't piss off the political structure and rule the surrounding lands.

Thinking of starting a TWW league - anyone interested? (I'm not being some goody-good; bonus points for starting league. )

Sounds like another Evony. God I hope it doesn't have all the stupid fucking ads with the barely clothed chicks that have nothing to do with the game.

For a possibly halfway decent browser persistent game, MS is making a new Age of Empires. Not sure that I'm going to be into it, but it can't be much worse than this other shit that is available now.

I started an account to check it out, seems interesting(especially since i only have a netbook at the moment. Looks like you can buy currency but they say claim that most users dont...guess ill have to wait and see about the ads. I might be interested in a league but ive never played a persistent game seriously before.

^^ I would never put money into these things. And I'm casual enough that I'm lucky to log in 2-3 times a week.

So... TWW league? I'll say if we get 5 people in it we'll start one.

Yes, this looks like another Evony-clone, like Kingory, Lord of Ultima, and the countless other ones out there.

I am embarassed to admit that i played Evony for several months. It's worse than WoW. You literally can't fucking sleep when you're at war because you have to constantly monitor your account to see if someone will attack you. At least in WoW, when you log off, your character is safe. When you log off from Evony, it's pretty much open season on you.

The worst part about it is the "free forever" theme. Yes it is free, but those who don't pay anything will fall severely behind. You need to buy the speedups so your Research/Tech doesn't literally take 2 weeks to complete.

I'm warning all of you guys - don't do it. you'll hate your life when you get addicted.
