for anyone here who also reads the SC2 thread in entertainment, i'm sure you've seen me lamenting the fact that this game keeps crashing my laptop. i've read online about this game crashing different computers for different reasons, but i am pretty sure it's causing my video card to overheat. i think this because it typically only crashes after playing for a while. When it happens, the screen goes black or occasionally fades to white, followed by skipping sound. I always must manually restart.

i've tried to adjust the framerate per blizzard's suggestion, reduce the settings, and update all of my drivers. Anyone have any other ideas/suggestions? I don't know much about computers, but i am sick of this shit happening.

i am running a sony vaio laptop, windows 7 64 bit, most recent directx. video card is ati radeon mobility 4650.

didnt see you mention this, but are you using a cooling pad? that can make a lot of difference.

I used to only get a bsod while only playing sc2.

I have an ati 5750 and this fixed my problem:

1) Make sure the laptop can "breath"
2) Make sure the laptop isn't filled with dust
3) Get a program that will monitor the video card temperature so you can see if it's getting too hot
