OK tww. I need your help.
My dad was in a bad accident this weekend he hit a semi. Well of course his car is totaled. He seems to be doing ok
He has always talked about getting a NC State red pick-up truck for years. Looks like now might be the time. So thoughts on a good used truck.
-Can't be too long, has to fit into the garage.
-he might want the crew cab to fit stuff -or he might want an excuse for no one (mom) not to ride with him.
-has to be able to fit his golf clubs and dog. (not my mom -priorties that you get later in life)
-reliable and he can tear the fuck out of it, cuase he is going to anyways. (those darn garage doors just jump into the way and he can't fix shit)
So I submit to the greater knowledge of the Garage here at TWW for some good advice 8/29/2010 5:48:32 PM |

Seriously? No offense but that may be the absolute worst list that I've ever seen to pick out a vehicle. You basically gave 2 pieces of info. It's a truck and it needs to be red.
-Crew cab = long but fits everyone -standard cab = short but can't fit people -I think every truck ever made will carry any amount of golf clubs that one person could own. -dogs fit well too -reliable & can tear the fuck out of it? Any newer truck is going to be reliable. You also need to define "tear the fuck out of it." If he drives through the fucking garage, pretty much any truck is going to be damaged in some way.
How about 2wd or 4wd? Brand loyalties? tow? Cost? Any preferences whatsoever? I mean it basically sounds like he could be happy with pretty much any truck made after 1995. Also a measurement or description would be good for the garage. Depending on when the house was built, the area, the builder, etc. it could fit a Suburban or have trouble with anything larger than a Cherokee. Personally, I'm a Chevy guy but you really need to narrow it down some.

well that's about vague as fuck
if all he wants to do is haul some golf clubs and a dog, i'd say get a 2wd toyota with a 4 cyl
does he need towing capabilities?
4wd? 8/29/2010 6:41:48 PM |
