so i was watching a dvd on my tv when it started to skip, so i tried watching it on the pc and it worked,
but not only that, but just as expected it looked clearer
but way clearer than expect, clear to the point where it looked like i was literally standing on the set
but not only that the film look that you get on tv or the theater was gone,
it looked like it was filmed with a home hd camera

anyone else notice this

Were you watching it on an LED monitor? I've noticed that with a lot of LED tv's. Everything looks like it was recorded on a handy cam.

you do realize that different dvd players from different companies look different right, i mean you have to know that, you just have...

oh it's lafta, nvm

EVERY DVD PLAYER FROM DIFFERENT COMPANIES (AND SOMETIMES EVEN DIFFERENT MODELS) HAVE DIFFERING ABILITIES TO DECODE AND DISPLAY.

the first clue should have been the ability of your computer to even play a dvd that your dvd player wouldn't, possibly because the laser in your laptop is better but unless the two companies built the thing the same way using the same materials i can't fathom why you'd be surprised that they look different or have you never stepped foot inside of a best buy where they line up all of the HDTVs and show you what the picture looks like on each

^reading is fundamental

first of all if you read what i wrote you would realize that i already knew what you just said
why else would i think playing it in my pc would would work when it didnt on my dvd player
why else would i expect better quality on the pc

the question i have is why the film look disappears
i think it has to do with the frame rate and other video jargon that im not too well versed in
so thanks for the effort buy you've added nothing to this conversation

This is actually from a feature that tv's that advertise 120 Hz or higher have. Each manufacturer calls it something different, I think Samsungs is called motion flow. If you turn it off it will go back to looking how you would expect it to look.
