Hey guys,
I know this is a long shot, but I would love to play in the Korean OBT of this game. Once an account is created, it is possible to change the language file over to English so that it is understandable/playable. However, I don't speak enough Korean to navigate through their website to register for a free open beta account
If any of you here are able to register an account for me... I will love you long time? I don't know, but I would definitely appreciate it.

Please shoot me a PM if you could help me out.

You could try sending a PM to magdalena. I'm pretty sure she lives in Korea.
Also have you tried installing google toolbar and getting it to translate the page to English? I had a reasonable amount of success navigating a Chinese webpage that way a while back. Although it was a news site so it was mainly text. Looks like there are a lot of images on the site you're looking at. 9/8/2010 6:00:48 PM |

I tried -- however once I got past the first or second page into registration it stopped working -- also, the buttons with text/images on them don't translate so I end up out of luck.
I'll def send her a pm in a few -- appreciate the information If anyone else is able to help, please let me know!

yeah thank goodness he PM'ed me.
for the record, you can't sign up without a registration number. In Korea, it's the law that when signing up for things online (offered by Korean companies operating Korean servers...?), that you must put in your real name and your real ID (re: SSN) number.
Registered foreigners have those too, so had to use that. Let's hope he keeps my rep clean
Other than that, he's probably OK; to play the actual game, you can follow the few English signs on the page. I wonder about creating a character, though. Not sure... 9/9/2010 11:35:41 AM |

magdalena to the rescue! You are by far my new favorite on TWW!
Once the client is installed, there is supposedly an easy way to modify a file or two and get everything in English (or very close to everything). The game will be released in NA/EU within the next few months and almost all of the translation has been completed for it. It is just a matter of making the game use the correct language file.
On a separate note, I won't do anything to give you a bad name 9/9/2010 11:39:43 AM |

Just be sure not to praise the communists or something online and you should be okay. I'm still annoyed whenever they ask for the citizenship number for Korean websites; I thought they were talking about abolishing that law soon. 9/9/2010 2:36:47 PM |

^ I dunno, haven't heard anything lately, but there was some buzz about it.
I do really really hope they'll get rid of that law.
But on the other hand, even with a valid alien registration number, you often have trouble signing up for stuff. It's possible to discriminate because numbers given to foreigners are different than for Koreans (though of the same length & general format). All ID numbers here begin with your birthdate (in a certain format) and end with 7 digits. Foreigners' last 7 digits start with a 6 or one other number (as in there are 2 possible options). So, bingo.
We seem to be getting him closer and closer to actually being able to play. Hope he can try out the next step today and we'll see if it works.
