I'm looking to rebuild my digital music collection. Does anyone know of good tools to rips music in multiple formats simultaneously?
Specifically, I'm looking to rip CDs in both Flac and mp3 at the same time. I would want to specify different output directories for each format and I would need the tracks to be auto tagged. A good album art fetcher would be handy as well.
My program for CD ripping has been Winamp for as long as I've been doing such things. However, Winamp would force me to do the ripping for each format separately. That's not a huge deal but it would take more time.
Also, it mp3 still the king of compatibility or is there some advantage I could gain using AAC? 9/17/2010 12:14:44 AM |

ImToo Converters. http://www.imtoo.com/cd-ripper.html
Their stuff costs around $25 but you can batch process them or background the conversion process.
When we run HD content I swear by it. First pass for BluRay, then iPod, ZuneHD, Web, and Flash all in ImTOO (it trims too, we use Flash for customer previews online.)
For the free route I would rip to FLAC, then batch process inside MediaCoder http://www.mediacoderhq.com/ If you have 64-bit DEFINITELY get their 64-bit client; it's over 50% faster than the 32 bit on my machine. Has some stability problems (doubt it will run them all the first try) but it gets the job done with the quickness. 9/17/2010 12:29:16 AM |
