I have them
Your take on allergy medicine? Does it work for you, and what do you use? I try to avoid taking pills all together, but I dont feel like suffering for a couple of weeks with itchy eyes. Besides taking over the counter medicine, what other remedies are there? 9/17/2010 11:31:47 AM |

I've tried the tough it out method and I end up getting the sinus infection from hell. Zyrtec-D all the way, with Visine Allergy Eyes if I get itchy. I have a Neti-Rinse thing, but it scares me. I know a few people that swear by it, though. 9/17/2010 12:10:05 PM |

+1 for Zyrtec D, or the generic equivalent as long as it contains cetirizine. 1 pill in the morning, after a few days of taking it I noticed a huge improvement. Not perfect, like right now I'm in bad shape & have been supplementing with various others & lots of water.
FYI: I'm allergic to all kinds of mold, pollen, ragweed, cats, you name it, not sure if certain meds work better for certain types of allergies. Good luck! 9/17/2010 12:23:15 PM |

i'm technically allergic to dogs and cats, but most don't bother me anymore. ragweed, mold, and tree pollen are my worst allergies. certain types of mold can ruin my life, really. sniffling, sneezing, eyes swelling shut, vomiting. i haven't found any meds that really helped with the mold though.

vomiting is probably from all the drainage going to my tummy, but all i know is it sucks ass. i think it's the black mold or whatever that does it. 9/17/2010 12:48:31 PM |

I still believe allergies to be a myth Sorry guess I'm a lucky one. Sometmes I snort lines of pollen just b/c I can. My girlfriend rocks the Zyrtec with some level of success, she's got the allergies bad. 9/17/2010 12:48:38 PM |

I, too, thought allergies were a myth...until I turned 16, and all hell broke loose. I didn't even get poison ivy when I played house in it. 9/17/2010 12:51:31 PM |

I've never had allergies to pollen or any kind of spring/summer time things that people suffer through. But I think I may have developed something. Itchy/watery eyes and one nostril is completely stopped up. I hate crap like this. Is Zyrtec-D still the best? 4/4/2011 8:28:36 AM |

I haven't taken anything all season, but had to take some zyrtek on Saturday. I got to the golf course at like 9am and needed that shit by 10am. The wind made me almost crazy. It works fabulously 4/4/2011 9:02:42 AM |

i take an all day antihistamine before i go to bed at night it only works to keep me from having sinus headaches
i take something else during the day for sneezing, etc if i feel like it
on a side note about allergies, i was talking about some foods causing similar or worsened reactions to poison ivy/oak/sumac yesterday and had a bizarre dream about eating three mangoes over the course of two days and having an awful rash breakout even though i'm not allergic to poison ivy/oak/sumac 4/4/2011 5:04:53 PM |

I've used Neti-pot for sinus stuff before and it worked pretty well considering what it is (was not allergy related just weather change sinus crud I get sometimes) I doubt it would do anything for itchy eyes.
Maybe local honey? I've heard some people say it helped but I don't think they had really bad allergies and I'm not sure how much you have to eat for it to work. If it doesn't work atleast its tasty 4/4/2011 5:39:30 PM |

I'm not allergic to pollen but I'm afraid that with age, I will be. My dad has it BAD.
Right now the only thing I hate about it is how annoying it is to have it all over my car. 4/4/2011 10:00:22 PM |
