Title says it all. I'd prefer a half helmet (with goggles/glasses if you have them) but full face would work too. Size large. Must be BLACK and not have graphics all over it. Glossy or flat would be fine. 9/22/2010 7:06:25 PM |

Well that depends on what it is, doesn't it? 9/22/2010 8:01:48 PM |

screw a half-helmet, as far as i'm concerned. I don't really like riding with a 3/4, but I can deal with that. 9/22/2010 9:42:38 PM |

A half helmet would really fit the bike better (its a old school XS650 bobber) but I'm open to whatever. The helmet I have right now is 3/4 but banged to hell and missing the front shield, so I have to wear glasses/etc. Gotta have something better before I start hitting the highway. 9/22/2010 10:37:37 PM |

Well I guess if you have no fucking idea what you're willing to spend on a helmet, yes. Otherwise one could assume you're looking for this shittiest $29 AFX helmet or a shoei... of which there is a big difference in price. 9/23/2010 12:16:35 AM |

Christ, what the hell is your problem? If you have something that fits the bill just say what it is and what price you want for it. That's how this works. 9/23/2010 1:20:35 AM |

in other words, he'll take an HJC or a Shoei, but he wants a good deal on whatever it is.
^^ yeah, but a helmet is not primarily a fashion statement. it's primarily to protect your head in a crash. if I go down, I know I want a full-face helmet on. A 3/4 would be the absolute bare minimum.
I'm in the market for a new helmet, myself. I ride an SV650 (prob sell for a supersport bike) and a BMW touring bike (which I'll probably be on 90% of the time). I'm still planning on buying a Shoei RF1000, even for when I'm on the BMW. 9/23/2010 4:32:33 AM |

The RF1K is an awesome helmet if your head fits it.
As far as size, you may want to go to Cycle Gear or something and try some on to see how the brands run. I wear a L in Shoei, and an XL in most others (that actually fit). They have their Seven-O-Seven house brand helmets on sale for ~$100 every once in a while, and they're a pretty good bang for your buck. Get one of the guys to help you test the fit properly too.
+1 for full face over a three-quarter. Unless you're down with having your jaw reconstructed and wired up after it meets the pavement, it's a pretty obvious choice.
