i just put in a subwoofer and an amp in my car. everything works fine except one thing. the sub is on when the radio radio tuner is on. but then when i put in a cd or plug in the aux cable the amp cuts off. can anyone tell me if this is quick fix or did i just over look a wire when i installed? 10/8/2010 12:12:57 PM |

what HU? is the amp remote wire connected to the HU/harness or another source?
if it's connected to the HU/harness, it sounds like your HU isn't sending a signal via the remote wire which would indicate a HU problem. The solutions for this are: 1) New HU/harness 2) connect the remote wire to another source that is based on ignition position.
you can test this by removing the remote wire from the HU/harness and connecting it (temporarily) to the battery. I recommend fusing the wire though, based on the amps required remote amperage... though for a short test, you could get by without it
if you already have the remote going to another source...well I don't know what then maybe some type of bad signal from the HU in those modes.

you wired the remote wire into the power antenna output on the head unit (fm on = antenna up, fm off = antenna down). wire it to the remote output. 10/8/2010 12:34:30 PM |
