Do not watch this movie.

Pacing is off, it is barely funny.

Waste of time.

I was looking for this thread earlier today to post how good the movie is, not great but good.. john malkovich makes the movie, if not for him it would be another generic spy movie.

i thoroughly enjoyed it, you have to take it for what it is: a comedic action spy movie, not some masterful piece of artistic creativity that invokes thought. john malkovich was hysterical throughout the entirety, lots of good 1-liners from him. he definitely made the movie IMO.

I liked this movie. It's silly at parts, but all in good fun.

There was one unresolved plot hole that left me wondering:

When Mr. F walked out of Mr. D's house, who was the sniper? They never explained that. Or did one of Mr. U's men just disobey orders and shoot anyways?

^ it is implied that someone was taking orders from a higher authority than the FBI/CIA officers at the scene and therefore regardless of the command to not shoot, he shot anyway.

^ well i apparently need it spelled out since the only 2 main theories i have read are Victoria shot him with her sniper rifle or an agent on the FBI/CIA was told from a higher power to shoot him. no one has even mentioned the idea of him being shot from inside the house.



(and if you read the script, there is no definitive answer to any theory)

I'm pretty certain that Bruce shot him. It was all a disctraction go get them offguard enough for Bruce and crew to slip out. I had toyed with the idea that it was a rogue, but there would have been no certainty for Bruce that someone would try to take a shot at him if he had gone out. Bruce taking the shot is the only way they'd know they could have a chance to break for it.

Its possible it was helen mirren, but I figure she'd keep her eyes on their CIA/FBI guys to know when it was safest to break for it and have someone in her sights.
