http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/10/tea-party-founder-slams-tea-party/

Quote :
"A financial blogger and ex-CEO credited with being one of the original "founders" of the Tea Party has come out against the movement, saying it has been hijacked by the very people it was protesting and is now obsessed with "guns, gays and God."

In a "message" to the Tea Party Wednesday, Karl Denninger declared that he "ought to sue" anyone who uses the Tea Party name "for defamation."

"Yeah, that's a joke," he writes. "But so are you. All of you. Especially Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Bob Barr, and douchebag groups such as the 'Tea Party Patriots.'"

Denninger writes: "Tea Party my ass. This was nothing other than the Republican Party stealing the anger of a population that was fed up with the Republican Party's own theft of their tax money at gunpoint to bail out the robbers of Wall Street and fraudulently redirecting it back toward electing the very people who stole all the ****ing money!"

Denninger runs Market Ticker, a financially-focused blog that has been strongly opposed to bank bailouts and has railed against excessive government spending. He founded the group FedUpUSA in early 2008, shortly after the collapse of investment bank Bear Stearns."

Awesome.

Denninger is somehow softly claiming he created the Tea Party?

WHAT

THE

FUCK

?

I always thought Ron Paul was somewhat the god father of the Tea Party?

Denninger (and I've been subscribed to him since early '08) is nothing more than a pompous blow hard who rails on about EVERYTHING economic related. Talking about the Tea Party is an exceedingly small amount of his posts so I can hardly see how he would have been an early founder.

I do agree with the sentiment. The 'Tea Party' has been completely hijacked by numbskulls and extremely off its original course. They've turned from their political roots and have almost turned into a religious crusade with the whole 'guns, gays, and god' thing.

Ron Paul had it right in his Libertarian grassroots movement before clowns like Palin and O'Donnell fucked it all up:

Personal responsibility, fiscal conservatism, social tolerance. This is what it was all supposed to be about.

http://www.newsweek.com/2010/10/17/how-tea-partiers-get-the-constitution-wrong.html

Quote :
"As usual, Thomas Jefferson put it best. In a letter to a friend in 1816, he mocked “men [who] look at constitutions with sanctimonious reverence, and deem them like the arc of the covenant, too sacred to be touched”; “who ascribe to the men of the preceding age a wisdom more than human, and suppose what they did to be beyond amendment.” “Let us follow no such examples, nor weakly believe that one generation is not as capable as another of taking care of itself, and of ordering its own affairs,” he concluded. “Each generation is as independent as the one preceding, as that was of all which had gone before.”"

Quote :
"The Founders’ masterpiece, O’Donnell said, isn’t just a legal document; it’s a “covenant” based on “divine principles.” "

Quote :
"Going forward, O’Donnell declared, Republicans must champion the “American values” enshrined in our sacred text. “There are more of us than there are of them,” she concluded.

By now, O’Donnell’s rhetoric should sound familiar. In part that’s because her fellow Tea Party patriots—Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, the guy at the rally in the tricorn hat—also refer to the Constitution as if it were a holy instruction manual that was lost, but now, thanks to them, is found."

Quote :
"Tea Partiers tend to sound more like Thomas than Scalia. Every weekday on Fox News, Glenn Beck—“the most highly regarded individual among Tea Party supporters,” according to a recent poll—takes to his schoolroom chalkboard to rail against progressives like Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt. “They knew they had to separate us from our history,” he says, “to be able to separate us from our Constitution and God.”"

Quote :
"Then there are the proposed amendments. In the current Congress, conservatives like Michele Bachmann have suggested more than 40 additions to the Constitution: a flag-desecration amendment; a balanced-budget amendment; a “parental rights” amendment; a supermajority-to-raise-taxes amendment; anti-abortion amendment; an anti-gay-marriage amendment; and so on. None of these revisions has anything to do with the document’s original meaning."

It seems as though liberals (those who disagree with both republicans and libertarians,) haven't done much complaining about the fact that the tea party was once decentralized, non-partisan and focused solely on fiscal issues, but has now been taken over by centralized partisan social conservatives.

I wonder why? :/

(Certainly it isn't because their primary defense against the inevitable libertarian liberation of society is to conflate fiscal conservancy with social conservancy. i.e. the 2-party dichotomy...)

As soon as minorities realize that individuals are also minorities, libertarianism will be unstoppable.
I honestly don't know why gays, atheists, Hispanics, and others waste their time with Democrats and Republicans.

Everyone is an individual and minority, ergo, they must think identically to what indy thinks they should think.

My existence and my desires are completely separate from and regardless of what people should think.
I happen to think that people should think whatever they want.
Does that mean what I think people should think is limited, bad, or partisan? No.
Zero is a number, but is absent of value.
Black is color, but is absent of hue.
Libertarianism is a party, but is absent of partisanship. (Is partisanship the right word?)

Don't pretend like you don't know what I mean.

Zero has a value. Zero.
Black is the absence of color.

Which would have gotten very few of them elected. The sad fact is, a large bulk of traditional Republican voters are either

A) Older, and thus you can't talk about touching their SS or Medicare, or
B) Social conservative voters

When you cleave those two groups out, you aren't left with much of a target demographic. It was inevitable.
