I read somewhere that all the games that weren't already televised were being picked up by MASN.

Found it: http://www.masnsports.com/masn_news_information/2010/11/masn-to-televise-charleston-classic-on-november-18.html

Quote :
"MASN will televise the entire first-day tournament lineup starting with Coastal Carolina vs. Georgetown on Thursday, November 18th at noon. The Hoyas are ranked 20th in the nation in the preseason AP Top 25.

Additional first-day games will include USC Upstate vs. Wofford at 2:30 p.m., East Carolina vs. NC State at 6 p.m and George Mason vs. Charlotte at 8:30 p.m. Viewers throughout MASN's seven-state territory will see all twelve NCAA programs invited to the Classic."

So NC State-ECU can be seen locally in Washington, DC but not Raleigh. Post confirmed sports bars showing this game on MASN ITT.

Who the fuck scheduled these games? Were they trying to make sure no one who has a job and lives outside of Charleston can attend any of them? Thursday night + Sunday night = FAIL

really?

it's a fucking tournament... when are they supposed to schedule all 4 games each day, as well as 3 games for each team?

Saturday being excluded is likely so as to not conflict with college football, plus it enables the championship game to be televised.

^^ As much outside of the work week as possible- wouldn't it make sense to try to sell as many tickets to the tournament as possible? I'm sure ESPN is expecting great ratings as they have only picked up 3 games, put them all on ESPNU, and televise 2 games on Friday afternoon. At least they avoided competing with college football

Anybody coming down for the tournament?? Great weather for the weekend, high 60s to low 70s and sunny. Nice new arena in the heart of downtown Charleston. Should be fun.

I will be there for the games. I am pretty pumped. Since I live in Charleston I doubt I will make any games at the RBC so this is my chance for what I hope is 3 games. GO PACK!!!

went to the Georgetown game last night. It was a pretty shitty game so I really don't know much about them. The Freeman guard is pretty nice, but their senior foward was out for some reason. Definately a beatable team.

I don't. Did you see us play against Tenn Tech? We looked aweful until Leslie took over. Let's hope we got rid of some major kinks this week and during the ECU game.

Hopefully the Tenn game was a fluke. B/c it was frustrating as hell to watch in person. (probably was b/c they had that massive freak that shut down Tracy Smith)

Mid-Atlantic Sports Network. I got this channel back when I had Dish Network...it carries a lot of the ECU games.

When I had MASN in Northern Virginia, it carried mostly Orioles, Nationals, and mid-major basketball (George Mason was on a lot). Get ready for the worst video quality you have seen outside of David Thompson highlights from the 70s. It was like watching a game through a fogged up window.

^My parents have DirecTV, which carries MASN-HD...they air Big East Network games, and those are in HD now, and it looked just as good as ESPN (which isnt saying much admittedly). MASN does a lot of broadcasts they dont produce themselves, so you will get mixed results...they had the ECU-UCF game on that weekend I was visiting, which was produced by UCF, and it was pretty average 16:9 SD. I wont judge their SD channel because all of those look like garbage on Dish Network.

All of these games are being produced by ESPN Regional TV...why are they not scheduled for ESPN3 as well?

ESPNU games in the past typically have not been on ESPN3, although it looks like they are starting to change that stance.

I see two of the games from the Charleston Classic listed on ESPN3.com, although I would be willing to bet the other ones on ESPNU will show up there too.

^Yeah I think theyve finally changed that since the change to ESPN3...I think it used to be to provide more incentive for providers to sign a deal to add ESPNU. I saw those two games listed too, which is odd...youd think they would carry either all or none of those games.

No, that would be if the picture quality was one of the best live broadcasts available.

Just got a call from King Street Grill in Charleston... apparently they are hosting the game watch for the football game. So if you're going down for the bball tournament then this is the place to watch the State/UNC football game...(the watch is being sponsored by NC State Charleston Alumni Club)

The guy said they're working on trying to provide the entire upstairs for State fans and and trying to work out some specials for us as well.
