STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} the windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly

I just got this error today on my desktop after a simple restart. After the windows loading screen that text comes up on a blue screen. I tried running in safe mode and running last known good configuration, but no luck. I'm going to try to find the old XP Prof cd to see if that can repair it, otherwise it looks like I'll have to reinstall the OS. Any suggestions other than that?

I found that but I can't seem to get to the command prompt.

Might be a rootkit. I'm actually on site right now and without Hiren's to fix. I used an old copy of ERD 2005 as I was going to try a system restore. I just got that bluescreen. When you booted to safe mode, did it hang on a random i***.sys file?

Nah, didn't hang in safemode, just the bsod.
