So there I was, been playing blackjack for about an hour. Started with 200, was down to ~100, decided 'fuck it, I'm tired, I want to go to bed' so I just threw all my chips down and awaited my fate. I got 20, dealer got 19, dealer collected my chip.

me: hey, what are you doing
dealer: oh my bad
me: yeah, I won
dealer: how many chips did you bet?
me: I don't know, I was done for the night and wasn't paying attention to my last hand
dealer: (with an attitude) well you need to pay attention to your chips

she decides to call my chips 102, and pays me accordingly. She tells her pit boss, I leave for the night back to my room (staying in the same hotel as casino)

Should I have made a bigger scene? Should I try to talk to someone about her attitude? etc

Jesus fucking christ. You got your money without very little trouble. Did you want a blowjob, too? You are playing with such a small amount of money, they won't give a shit. If you don't like the dealers, leave.

I'm more upset that the dealer tried to pin the blame on me. Yes it's very low stakes, but if you provide a service, do that service and don't blame your fuck ups on me.

I'm paying a decent amount for one of their rooms, I expect better.

im not trying to be rude, but i think you probably should have known how much you were betting on the last hand, even if you were tired.

unless your playing in someone's basement, such a fundamental failing as a dealer would get you insta-fired from any casino worthy of the name

I thought the big fuck up was the dealer trying to take the chips when the dealer lost.

I've called out a dealer who mistakenly though she heard me say hit eventhough I sat there waving my hand for "stand".

Another time a dealer tried to grab my $5 that I placed for the next hand.

I hate dealers... they get paid (tipped) way too much to be so miserable all the time

^ I don't know what kind of dealers you have dealt with, but in my experiences all of them have been very nice (if you're not being a jackass) and fun. If they weren't nobody would tip them in the first place. Plus they work for min. wage so I would always tip the dealer, especially after a big blackjack hand.

But to respond to the OP, it looks like you didn't care anyway if you just said "fuck it, all in" and then didn't count the rest of your chips. Be happy that your 49% odds came through and don't make the mistake again. Dealers are human too, they screw up like we all do.

^^^ Yeah I knew that, but I'm not sure why that makes a difference. If they get more tips for the entire group they still get a bigger tip. The whole reason they do share tips is because it's not really fair if one dealer gets "hot" and doesn't get any tips because nobody at his table is winning (or they get a table full of jerks/newbs that don't tip) .

I can relate. This one time I ordered a sandwich and clearly said "NO MAYO!"

You know what happened? I caught them trying to put MAYO ON IT.

My experience is that the people that play blackjack hardcore (not you, obviously) are pricks. I imagine if I was the dealer handing cards to a bunch of pricks all day long, I'd probably be pissy as well.

I hate blackjack, because if you make the wrong move, you dont just hurt yourself, it affects others, and they in turn get pissed at you. HATE THAT. Which is why i also hate blackjack players (at the table).

^ yeah, somebody said something to me in Puerto Rico about how they table would want to fight if I took the wrong card. I told them that it sounded like I was going to have a good time because I want to make the dealer bust, but I also love to fight too...lol Never really heard a peep from anyone after that.

I wish I had stepped away when I was ahead, but I got about six or seven unbelievably bad hands in a row and ended up losing a little money (<$65) for the night.

to hell with those people. all you should worry about is beating the dealer, not helping everyone else at the table. i usually play basic strategy but sometimes you got to take a chance and deviate from it

fwiw i've almost always walked away a winner when i've been playing without anyone else on the table though

I'm a little confused about how other players can claim your play "hurts" them when they have no idea what the next card will be.

Apparently it makes a difference, as others here have attested. I dont know the odds and play of blackjack to explain it to you.

I find this true as well. I dont really play blackjack because of the way the other players act toward you if you do something they dont think is correct.

Realize that gamblers are some of the most superstitious people in the world, and the blackjack players are among the most superstitious of gamblers, and you'll see why they freak out if you throw a wrench into their meticulously planned out regime.

I once had a guy ask me to leave the table because I had a bad aura.

The funniest thing is when players freak out because you didn't follow their "rules" on each count, even if it's the right play based on the count. Obviously they are the experts b/c they printed a cheat sheet off the internet.

It doesn't make a difference. It's all random. Obv if someone misplays there hand it will affect what card the dealer gets however it's still completely random.
