Ok so my dad's 1999 Corolla was just bequeathed to me so I've got a new beater. It's got 187k on it and it's worth almost nothing. The battery is at least 5 years old so I'm going to have to change it soon. What's the best place for a cheap ass battery? Walmart? BJ's/Sam's/Costco ? or just the cheapest one they have at Autozone/Advance? I'm not getting a used battery so that's out. It's got a Duralast Gold in there right now which is a good battery but I'm not paying that much.

Dude, just get on the websites and see who's got the cheapest battery. When you're talking dirt cheap, they are all about the same.

I prefer Deka, which is Carquest, which is East Penn. But they don't come cheap.

I put a lightweight battery in my car recently, let me see if I saved the battery I pulled out. If so, I'd sell it to you much cheaper than one you can get at a store. Let me know if you want (it'd be Monday before I can check).

go to walmart and find the cca battery you need. on the label look on the bottom and it'll say who manufactured it. if it says johnson controls put it back and find another one in that row. if it says exide buy it.

my buddy ran a tractor battery in his Vr-4 (which needs all the weight reduction it can get). he never had any starting issues with it. I think I'm going to wait until the car leaves me stranded to do anything about the battery. I'm up to 3 cars right now so I can just switch it up.
