My over the stove microwave died tonight...and since I pretty much live off of it, I need a replacement. My question is..how hard is it to install one yourself? With my schedule it's a pain in the ass to get someone to come out and do it, plus I'd rather not pay for it if not necessary. Anyone had experience? Keep in mind I'm just one little female....

It's more of a two person thing, but if you had a stand of some sort to balance it for you, one person could do it.

You'll have to slide the old microwave out of its track mounts. You'll then have to replace the mount by screwing a new one into the studs. You'll need a drill and an extra pair of hands.

Be sure to measure your old microwave and buy one that is similar.

If you can't find anyone else, I can help you install it for $20.

You're going to need to rig a pulley system from the ceiling with at least a 3:1 mechanical advantage to help with lifting the old microwave out and getting a new one in.
Once you have your pulley system set, it's cake from there on out!
