Playing UNC early, glad to get that one over with early, 8-4 seems reasonable with or without RW.

I think someone paid us to get out of a 2011 game, and it was probably too late to get a good replacement. I could be wrong, though.

[Edited on November 27, 2010 at 11:24 PM. Reason : but yeah, thank Lee Fowler]

I thought it was weird to play UNC so early....after looking at the teams again....Liberty might upset us......

The only away game that concerns me is the FSU game, but they will be without Ponder.

You realize that's not the actual schedule, right?

The only game that has a date right now is South Alabama. Conference schedules won't be released for months.

Getting a new coordinator at either offense or defense would be fine with me, but I don't think we'll see it. The only change I'd want to see is at ST/Recruiting Coordinator with that Petercuskie guy.

I doubt RW comes back. We need our O-Line to finally be half-way decent if we want Greene and Glennon to have big years.

That's acutally a very favorable schedule. Only tough road game is @ FSU. MD, UNC, Clemson, and GT at home. Other road game are winnable.

OL - should be much improved since we're returning everyone but Vermiglio and he'll be replaced by Crisp.

QB - This will be the deciding factor unless Wilson stays. I think Glennon will be really good but he'll be throwing to his TE and RBs a lot.

RB - Returning everyone.

TE - Returning Bryan and Watson.

WR - We'll take a big hit here. Losing Williams, Davis, and Spencer. TJ Graham will be our top returning WR.

DL - Losing some starters. But we keep Reiskamp, Kuhn, and Sweezey. This year we weren't very good at DL. Couldn't pressure QBs w/o blitzing. So this will remain a weakness.

LB - Losing Irving but returning Cole and Manning. Can't replace Irving. We'll still be strong here.

DB - Everyone returning. But that's probably a bad thing. They need to do a lot of work in the off season.

ST - Some returning experience in K and P. Both need work. Graham returning for KR and PR.

Defense - returning 16 on the 2 deep
Offense - returning 16 on the 2 deep

Bottom line: If Glennon and a few receivers step up, I think we have a chance of being an overall better team than this year. With an easier schedule next year we should be playing for a spot in the ACC CG again.

9-3 with losses to Clemson, GT and FSU.

The new guys won't be better than the people leaving. Bryd and Smith are better talents, but I don't expect Archer's scheme to produce better results. The defense got better because of the blitzing and Irving applying pressure. Opposing receivers will still run free through our secondary.

Cole doesn't have Irving's speed to get to the football, and manning doesn't have the power to penetrate. I doubt that both of them together will add up to irving.

We will actually lose to UNC.
MD will be a loss -- their QB is the real deal.
Clemson
FSU
And 1 from GT, BC, Wake, UVA

Don't forget E.J Carter, the kid who transferred from Syracuse. He started there as a freshman, and was considered perhaps the top freshmen linebacker in the Big-East (for whatever that's worth since its the Big-East, but still). Had to sit out this year due to transfer rules, but he will be a really nice addition after losing Nate. We should definitely be solid at LB next year.

No VT, no Miami (not that they're that good)...that's nice. OOC schedule doesn't look too daunting. I know we are losing some big guys this year, but I don't think it would be unrealistic to get 8 wins with that schedule. Of course that is an extremely early guess.

barring the normal N.C. State-shit that always happens... that could be a great year.

GT/Clemson/Maryland really didn't impress me much. @FSU is the only L I'd guess. MAYBE losses to UMD/Clemson because we can never beat them.

already? this season isn't even over yet.

that occ schedule sucks. even if we win all 4 (assuming that they are in a row), we still wouldn't get a vote in the top 25.

Yeah, it was in 1994. I remember it. Louisville played in a minor league baseball stadium then.

Can't wait to play at Mobile in the USA return game. It's like Charleston without the history or charm or nightlife or anything redeeming.

At least we get the return games at Pitt and UConn coming up. Something different and interesting for a change.
