tried searching and didnt come up with anything conclusive so sorry if this is a repeat....

but does anyone have experience with any ps3 repair places around raliegh ? i really dont want to have to spend 150 to send it back to sony, and there's a couple places around here that seem reputable.

I have 2. One has a YLOD and the other seems to have a malfunctioning blu-ray drive motor.

for the blu-ray issue: send it back to sony.

I had the same thing, so I paid and sent it off, then I got it back and have a warranty. Its working awesome now.

If you are the one who pays to have it fixed, then you will be the one whose name is on the warranty of that repair.

I ended up getting a new one. Didn't realize the warranty would be extended after the repair.

Is there a way to play my games on the one with the broken blu ray drive?

Like rip the discs to hard drive and play off of there?

i worked on it for 3 fucking hours last night and now i have the Black screen of death issue

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut

i think i forgot to connect something. the game plays if i load it into the PS3, cut it off and then back on .... but will not recognize anything ... even the home screen at boot up.

sigh...going to crack it back open again

it wasnt that bad ... just tedious

oh we back

if you guys have this issue in the future just know that when you put a new drive in...at least for me ... you will have to hold the power button down until the 3 beeps and reset the audio/video selection for the hdmi port

yay
