how much longer until actual gameplay looks like that? the next generation of consoles in a few years?

Obligatory 'it looked like that on the PC in 1922. Don't worry, one day consoles will catch up'

^ it got mad love from everywhere I read about it, including tww. I typically only play sports games so that's why I haven't gotten it yet but I'm going to pick this up if nobody gets it for me off my Christmas list, it's only like $20 now

arkham asylum was fantastic. Its def the best comic book game of all time and its a good game all around. I definitely deserves the hype.

I guess if i had to describe it its sort of metroid prime + splintercell + third person brawler.

I downloaded the demo on steam and it sold me in about the first 5 minutes.

So is this an open world game?

And if so, can we drive the Batmobile?

I hope they keep the stealth elements, especially now that Splinter Cell went pure action.

^^ the newest one relied heavily on run and gun tactics. there was still some stealth, but not nearly as much as the other ones

^^^ Conviction

1) The main gameplay element was something new called "mark and execute". Essentially kill people to build up a meter, once the meter is full press a button, the screen freezes and you tag bad guys, unfreeze the screen and Sam rapidly one shot kills all the tagged bad guys. They have you doing this the majority of the game and I don't really feel stealthy doing it; and frankly it becomes boring after a while. No challenge in pressing a few buttons to insta-kill everything on the screen.

2) The only way to earn points to unlock new things is by performing "P.E.C." challenges. All the challenges revolve around killing or being detected (not stealthy, no?) and losing your pursuers.

3) On most levels you absolutely can't progress unless you run and gun.

A stark contrast to the other Splinter Cell games where one of the driving forces behind replayability was redoing levels to see if you could go undetected and have no kills the entire time. Conviction rewards you for your body count and for being detected.

Mr. Freeze is my least favorite villain, but that is probably b/c Arnold ruined him in "Batman and Robin".

if you buy AC at kmart, you get a $30 game credit for a future purchase. It must be purchased in store and you must be a shop your way rewards member. You can sign up for a card free online.

Pretty awesome deal considering Skyrim, Uncharted 3, BF3, and MW3 are all coming out soon along with many other recently released games (forza, dark souls, etc).

This game is worth every penny.

And it will blow you away. Without a doubt.

If you are a Batman fan, you will become comatose from the sheer magnitude of how awesome this game is. If you are not a Batman fan, you will become one rather quickly.
