At first, the gag wasn’t going all that well, as Dovydaitis missed his first 19 shots, but the Lithuanian managed to get back on track and even had a run of eight consecutive shots made from beyond the arc at one point in the game. What’s even more remarkable, his teammates amassed a total of 108 rebounds, a key factor to the player’s success. Despite collecting a total of 73 points, Dovydaitis managed to get a total efficiency ranking of minus-30, mostly due to a hundred missed three-pointers. “My goal was to score twenty out of a hundred, but what’s most important is that I broke the record,” said the new record holder, who has set a mark, which will be hard to beat."

From the sounds of things his teammates pulled the rebound down just so they could pass it back to him for another attempt. I think their #1 priority was breaking the record. If they won they won, if they lost they lost, but that record was going to be broken.

It's an amateur game, why not have fun with it? It's not like anyone was rushing to see them play anyway.

If you were on this team, I'm sure you'd think it was awesome. It had to be the most entertaining thing in the world to watch after about fifteen minutes, when everyone knew what was coming next.

imagine how many offensive rebounds someone could've gotten

just looked at the box score...it doesnt differentiate between dboards and oboards but 5 other players on his team had 15, 19, 22, 24 and 26 rebounds

nobody on the other team had more than 8

NBA teams would have way too much integrity to let this happen to them. Once they realized what the other team was up to, they'd tell one of their scrub players to foul the shit out the shooter on each successive attempt.

His entire gameplan at Charlotte was as follows:

COACH LUTZ: Ok, listen guys. Get the ball across midcourt. If you take it across the time line, you jack up a 3. If for some reason we get a rebound, kick it out to an open man, and by open I mean guarded by less than 3 people. That person jacks up another 3. If we make the shot, get back on defense. If we don't but get the rebound, repeat this process. If we don't get the rebound, swipe at the ball and then get back on defense before they take their 2nd shot.
