Don't really follow WBB, but after a solid year last year we have a pretty poor record this year. From what I read on Pack Pride we're supposed to be a real, real small team - something crazy like no one over 6'5.

Dumb thread.

Actually the team has 1 ACC win, and a bunch of close losses to ranked teams. There are some players injured, the team is undersized, but they play hard every game, unlike a certain other team. Give Harper more than 1.5 seasons. Letting your frustration about the men's team carry over to every other sport is some PackPride bullshit.

The women have 1 ACC win against Wake, but the games have been close and the women never quit. Our main two "big" players are out and have 2 others out with injuries. Hope you watched today's game vs FSU before starting this thread.

She doesn't ahve the size on the roster to be competitive. There is very little parity in womens bball, so if you don't have that 6'-5" she man on your team, you have no hope.

I remember watching a couple of the ACC Tourney games and I think the first round NCAA game (dont remember if they won or lost...think they mightve won 1st round then lost in the second to ucla) and I remember thinking their team was screwed this year. The team was held together by a senior guard and a freshman SG but the SG is only effective when she's hitting 3s

All the "bigs" were small hustle types (even for women) and I thought, unless she recruited a bunch of centers, they'd be in trouble this year

also, like every other girl on our team had a knee brace

She sounds like a solid coach. Just need to get the recruits. From the few games I have seen, they play tough and smart. They just get out rebounded because they are so small

A lot of teams dont have anyone over 6'5...they are girls, after all. Problem for us is, of the 6 players above 6', two have been out all year basically, one has a career ending injury, one is a freshman, and one rarely plays (also an injury?). Also, we dont have a tank like FSU does.

Unlike Sidney, she has actually had a good year.

The team has had a lot of setbacks this year and apparently she's been recruiting pretty well. She'll definitely be given time.

Per ESPN...she split the series with Carolina in both of her seasons, whereas we lost 19 of the last 22 to them prior to that.

I can't imagine what this season would have brought if we weren't screwed over by injuries.

Some guy on Pack Pride who's big on WBB gave a run down of the season so far a few days ago. Seems like a lot of the reason we haven't been doing well are a lot of close losses, a lot of injuries and not much height. If she can get recruiting going she may really get the program to being pretty damn good.
