I never understood putting an old movie into Blu-Ray. Its like in shows and movies where the main character is all "THERE! ENHANCE THE REFLECTION IN THE VICTIM'S EYE BALL IN THIS GRAINY-ASS SECURITY VIDEO"
because I'm pretty sure they didn't film these movies in HD. What better quality are you getting out of it? 2/10/2011 4:55:22 PM |

You do realize they rescan in the actual archival film of the movie and reprocess the image with sound. It's not like they just put the original non-HD movie and upscale it. As long as the actual film is of good quality (technically shot good with good audio) and rescanned properly, it could be a whole new experience.2/10/2011 5:50:44 PM |

people always kill me when they say this. think of movies on dvd or bluray as scanned images(which is literally what they are) scanning the same negative into your computer for dvd which is 480p max equates to .3 megapixels compared to an scanned image at 1080p which is 2 megapixels. keep in mind though quality is dependent on the transfer. so i've seen movies filmed in the past few years look worse than my copy of top gun in hd.
coming to America is classic in any format
