Couldn't you just use your existing license keys to activate a trial download? 2/11/2011 5:05:07 PM |

No need for a download. Have that. Needed physical discs. 2/11/2011 6:47:56 PM |

why would you need physical discs if you have downloaded version? 2/12/2011 1:16:27 AM |

Bc adobe is dumb. Why would your download file = a bunch of executables that are not in order?
Why not just have one large .msi or exe that will install by itself? Or better yet offer the iso to people who own valid licenses?
Also I am using them as a redundant source as the originals are floating around somewhere and the other IT staff are a bunch of bumbling idiots who think making a backup copy is pirating (even though it's allowed under adobe regs).
Ok rant off. 2/12/2011 2:23:06 PM |

I thought it was simple: one small EXE installer and one big 7-Zip archive, or for the smaller programs like Dreamweaver, just a big EXE installer. 2/12/2011 3:15:59 PM |

The whole process is fucked.
Adobe has your nuts in vise due to the way they do business.
No worries though, it's been taken care of very quickly due to proper planning. 2/12/2011 10:33:43 PM |

odd... It was really simple for me to download cs5 straight from adobe with no hassles or issues. It was kinda of a nice feature on release day to download it before the actual disc's arrived. Plus, you can always get the ISO's on torrents. I did that for cs3 when I misplaced them and didn't find them for a while, but I have a legit cd key.
And yes, IT departments tend to be overly cautious, thats why we in marketing always had backup copies for software instead of relying on IT to get off their fat lazy ass and do something when we put a ticket in. (I've had IT experience fyi so I see both worlds) 2/13/2011 2:20:46 AM |
