This is not an homage thread. I would like to know the answer. Fatdaddy's is the best I've had so far. 2/15/2011 6:02:51 PM |

I would also like to know where to find good okra. Most places I've been to the okra is greasy and not crispy 2/15/2011 6:03:54 PM |

just get the damn House Autry mix, some frozen okra and do it yourself.
get the mix that's made especially for vegetables and fry 'em for 3 minutes, ftw. 2/15/2011 6:16:34 PM |

My buddy got Fried okra at The Pit this past weekend and said it was good. Looked a lot like the okra we used to get in the cafeteria at high school though. 2/15/2011 6:18:31 PM |

^^^ when you do it do you do it in a pan or do you use a deep fryer or a fry daddy or whatevs?
i don't have a fry daddy so i always try to do it in a pan and it never works as well :/
i mean they turn out ok, but not as good as with a deep fryer. 2/15/2011 6:25:08 PM |

Crowley's okra is ok.
I like to get okra at Fat Daddys and then cover it in that nacho cheese sauce. so good. 2/15/2011 6:26:19 PM |

^^ i do 'em in a deep fryer, just because it's easier to drop them in and walk away for 3 minutes. 2/15/2011 6:31:09 PM |

the only place i've had fried okra was at spanky's on franklin street in chapel hill, and it was pretty good considering okra is disgusting. 2/15/2011 7:33:49 PM |

try the Q-Shack (Northhills?) or Dickey's BBQ in Crossroads
both are formidable choices for quality okra 2/15/2011 8:01:22 PM |
