I think it's messed up they were continuing to sell gift cards even though they've known for awhile they're going under.

I'd be surprised if they didn't shutter completely over the next year or two to be honest. Use those gift cards while you can

is there an official announcement on this? funny there's a borders like a block from a barnes and noble here so I wonder what would happen to the boder's; I always enjoyed being able to choose between the two stores

hmm hopefully mine will stay open, now I feel bad for ripping them off with all those 30-40% off coupons, I've been doing the same thing with blockbuster; I guess dying companies always do crazy deals when they are getting desperate, I like barnes and noble but I wouldn't want them to be a total monopoly now

Don't worry, they have Amazon to contend with.

If it's anything like the closing of the Charlotte Southpark area store last month, almost everything will be 40% off.

The Cary Walnut St. store and Six Forks Road locations are both closing.

I won't be renewing my Rewards Plus membership this fall, and I have a gift card to use ASAP, but fortunately my frequently-visited store is safe (for now).

I own this book. I got it for free for helping out with a non-profit yard sale.

It's really good. Be careful, you will get sucked in and read for hours. There are probably a couple hundred different entries about various jobs. Doctors, music producers, porn stars, cab drivers, almost anything you can think of. I would definitely recommenced it.

See I don't think Amazon *wants* a brick-and-mortar presence. They're quite happy with where they are currently.

^^that makes very little sense, at least from Amazon's perspective.
