Just curious how many there are on here that have graduated did so within 4 years. If not, how many years did it take and what was your major? If you havent do you expect to stick to your 4 year plan? Just did a degree planner thingy on mypack and it looks like my 4 yrs will in fact be 4.5 for ME. yes, this is sorta dumb. ok, go.

4 years CE
technically 3 years for my MS (finished classes in 2 years, but due to the large amount of research, it has taken me an extra year to finish my thesis)

4.5 ECE (double major)

I did a co-op, which extends graduation by a year. Otherwise, I guess I would have done it in 3.5.

I got a BS in Mathematics from IU in 3 years, after plenty of transfer credit and a busy first-year schedule.

8 semesters to get my BS in ME. no summer classes. transferred calc 1 & 2 and two humanities from community college i took during senior year of high school, which made it a lot easier.

4 years for my ME. No co-op though, just internships so it didn't affect my graduation time. I took a few summer classes here and there but nothing major. In between fresh + soph year I took sociology and history electives at a community college while working (the community college classes were a joke) and then I took statistics, film, and engineering ethics the next summer. Really wasn't too bad though.

And to be honest, I didn't do them in order to graduate on time, I only did it to keep my semester hours down so it was easier to focus on the actual ME courses.

5 years for 3 degrees in CSC, CPE, and EE along with 2 internships and TAing 2 labs (CSC 116 and E 115).

4.5-5 years was pretty standard from what I saw, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you have decent grades and some work experience it's not like an employer is going to ask why you didn't do it in exactly 4.

That seems crazy... why not just get ECE then a masters?

^Probably because I am a little crazy ... I'm getting my Masters now though... in statistics with a genetics concentration.

The CSC wasn't that much more work outside of the normal ECE though, it was around 30 hours if you chose your electives right.

It is a nice conversation topic in interviews because I inevitably get the "you got 3 degrees?" question.

Undergrad took 4 years, and I'll graduate in the standard 2 year plan with a master's degree this May. In undergrad I did some major switching, but I utilized summer sessions to stay on track.

I've heard some students concerned about how long it is going to take to graduate if the new General Assembly's budget cuts to state colleges causes needed classes not to be offered as often. I wonder how that will play out.

BS: 4.5 years
MS: 3.5 years (kinda embarrassed about this one... 2 year program, buuuuuuut I was working 50+ hours/week and only taking 1-2 classes/semester so I know I shouldn't feel as bad as I do)

BS AE: 4 years - came in with ~18 AP hours. No summer classes.
MS AE: 4 more years (2 years of actual work + 2 years of "extended leave" (i.e., slacking off on finishing the paper))

Double BS major in 4 years with an internship each summer and 3 jobs held during the school year throughout my tenure, and 150 hours to meet the CPA edu reqs.

I know it's bus/acc so it's much more doable than engineering. I probably spent, on average, 1-2 hours per day outside of classes doing stuff for school

I finished in 4 years with a BS in Biological Sciences and a minor in Genetics and Music. I did take a lot of summer classes and full semesters though. Wasn't very easy.

But now I get to come back for at least another 5 years!

5 years BS ME, no co-op or other internship. Hit a dry spell in the middle where my life turned to shit and I had no ambition before hitting my stride and finishing strong. While I ended up getting a great job it's def fucked over my potential to get a masters in engineering anywhere.

BS in Statistics: 4 years (2005-2009)
Master's in Advanced in Analytics: 1 year (2009 - 2010).

Being 22 at the time with a Master's was kind of a good feeling.

Started Fall 2006

Graduated Spring 2011
BA, Sociology
BA, English
BA, Political Science

I did some summer classes though. It's really not that bad, but those first 2 years really make it seem like it's going to take forever. You also don't realize just how much fun those tailgates, hillsborough hikes, late night panty raids, and halo sessions in the library are until you start talking all upper-level classes and you have a lot less free time.
