Actually, you could have just not said "this is applicable to NC State Sports" because this isn't just a NC State Sports discussion board. You can, in fact, discuss other teams, I believe.

This is a good doc, btw. Made me feel a little sorry for Tarkanian.

I thought it was awesome that he received a 2.5 million dollar check from the NCAA for harassment. Don't get me wrong, UNLV wasn't the cleanest program out there, but they NCAA was trying their hardest to mess with Tarkanian. They hated him b/c he stood up to them. And that one investigator called him a "rug merchant" b/c he was Armenian. If someone said that nowadays they'd be removed instantly and be called a bigot. There were schools out there like Illinois that were doing a lot worse.

The 1991 UNLV team won their regular season games by an average margin of 28 points. They were ridiculously talented. I don't know if we'll ever see a team that dominant again, b/c very rarely does a team loaded with NBA talent come back. Yeah the 2006 UF team came back, but they were nowhere near on the level that that UNLV team was. Duke was better in 91, but UNLV still should have beaten them. Hey upsets happen though in college basketball.

Coach K, especially early in his career, was a master of motivation. When they got their butts handed to them by a Ralph Sampson led UVA team 109-66 in the ACC Tournament in Jay Bilas' freshman year in 1983, Coach K decided to put up the score of the game on the scoreboard in Cameron Indoor Stadium at the beginning of next season's practice. He left it up there the entire time. That season Duke would make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in Coach K's tenure.

I believe he did something similar in the 1990-1991 season by writing the score of the 1990 National Championship game (103-73) on a chalk board in the locker room, and then posting it all around the locker room on sheets of paper.
