7am, waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal
Seein’ everything, the time is goin’
Tickin’ on and on, everybody’s rushin’
Gotta get down to the bus stop
Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends (My friends)

Quote :
""Friday" is a song written by Clarence Jey and Patrice Wilson, performed by Rebecca Black, a 13-year-old singer-songwriter from the United States.[1][2] The song was produced by the Ark Music Factory, a company owned by Jey and Wilson.[3]

Starting on Friday, March 11, 2011, the viewcount for the music video jumped from around 3,000 views to over 5.6 million on YouTube in five days and became a popular viral video.[4] The popularity was due to the lyrics, singing and video content being what observers called "bizarre," "inept" and "hilariously dreadful."[4][5][6] Since the growth in popularity of the song and video, there have been numerous parody videos and remixes. [7] Forbes stated that the notoriety of the song is another sign of the power of social media — specifically Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr, in this instance — in the ability to create "overnight sensations".[8] "Rebecca Black" has continued to be a trending topic on Twitter since March 11,[9] and the song and singer were "savaged" on the social network.[10]

Kevin Rutherford, a columnist for Billboard magazine, wrote, "Black's video for 'Friday' is one of those rare occurrences where even the most seasoned critics of Internet culture don't know where to begin. From the singing straight out of Auto-Tuned hell to lyrics such as 'Tomorrow is Saturday / And Sunday comes afterwards / I don't want this weekend to end' and a hilariously bad rap about passing school buses, 'Friday' is something that simply must be seen and heard to be fully appreciated."[11]"

Anyone mocking this song is clearly missing the subtext. The whole song is about blissfully embracing the fact that just as you're leaving high school -- in short, just when you think your life is really about to start -- it has in fact already been decided for you. Realistically, you can't be anything you want. You've got a limited skillset and education that really only prepares you for a small set of opportunities. Some people would be upset; others, like Ms. Black, feel so relieved at being deprived of the pressure of deciding their course that they are sublimely happy.

The symbolism, of course, being that she acts as though she can sit wherever she wants in the car -- but in reality all of the seats are occupied but one. She has no choice. The chance to make a decision is all an illusion, but she's so OK with that she's singing.

Meanwhile, the parts of the song not dealing with car seats make a similar commentary about the mundanity of everyday life.

Either that, or this girl is a shrieking moron who had better pray to God that she gets knocked up by someone with good earning potential in the near future.
