I think they have this at the spice place at the farmers market too. Or maybe they only have ground jalapeno. I don't remember, but I want to try them both. 3/29/2011 10:11:46 PM |

if you're into spices, you need to check out Penzey's in Cameron Village. It's like a spice warehouse. I won so many cool points giving gift sets from them as Christmas gifts this past year.

Nah man, you only have to break the combo once for it to be a combo breaker. 3/30/2011 4:00:39 AM |

I hate you TenaciousC, now I will go there and spend money
If you go to any of the tiendas in town they have ground habanero. I use it in my chili sometimes. 3/30/2011 8:34:27 AM |

I might attempt wing sauce with the ground habanero added.
question... should i go naked or breaded? (i thought about adding ground habanero to breading for an extra kick) 4/5/2011 2:09:09 PM |

Naked. Breading masks the flavor and is for n00bs and little kids. 4/5/2011 2:10:16 PM |

i generally prefer naked as well, but i saw a man versus food episode where they had super hot breaded wings, and the breading added extra challenge. 4/5/2011 2:12:46 PM |

I use habanero on the turnip greens when I eat at the fountain or clark hall. Generally when you are eating turnip greens at the fountain you cannot tell whether the habanero is good or bad, but it does flavor the turnips. I also sometimes will use Texas Pete, though it is a little too sour and not hot enough. I much prefer a Louisiana hot souce, and I also keep a bottle of a red habanero sauce in my fridge. Habanero is good directly on corn chips. 4/5/2011 8:30:19 PM |
