I take hitting over closers every single time

I didn't pick a closer till my last 3 picks in the draft. I always work the committees and waiver wires for saves and do a decent job of keeping up in the category.

Thanks to bloomberg front office, which syncs with your league settings and tailors play er rankings according to who will be most valuable in relation to your scoring system, I learned that closers are the most valuable players in my league!

So with Cody Ross on the DL and Marlon Byrd D2D I picked up another OF. It was between Carlos Gomez and Ben Francisco. I picked Francisco because he has been having a good spring. And then Gomez hits a homer on his first day. Destiny is being cruel to me for my Phillies fandom here.

I do that same thing every year if my league has DL spots (some leagues don't which is ). I'll drop my weakest player from the draft, pick up the best DL guy on waivers, place him on DL, pick up next best DL guy, place him on DL, and go back and pick my guy from the draft back up. Sometimes it pays nice dividends.

a guy in one of my leagues offered me Drew Stubbs and Jason Bay for Carl Crawford. The numbers look ok but I feel like he's selling high/buying low on me. Could really use some help with this one. Any thoughts?

the rest of my OFs are BJ Upton, Curtis Granderson, Colby Rasmus, Carlos Quentin, and picked up Francoeur but he's sitting on my bench.

^ I would not do that trade. Crawford will get going and bats at the top of a high octane offense. His production will be fine. Bay still plays for the Mets and at Citi field 50% of the time so his production will never get back to what it was when he played for Pitt or Boston.

Stubbs is a 5th OF fantasy wise, but does have potential for good numbers playing for the Reds. Honestly with your other OFs, especially if Quentin gets back to hitting, you'll probably never play both Stubbs and Bay (unless both are hot) so really you are trading Crawford for one or the other.

^If he's really not supposed to return until the end of May, I might wait a week or two and see if anybody on the bench separates themselves and drop the weaker. Then again I'm the type that only keeps one position player on my bench at a time so your situation is kind of foreign.

yea im usually pitcher heavy, but the core of pitchers i have are good enough to where i dont rotate them as much as i have had to in the past...

I would trade both Masterson and Martin because I personally don't think either will keep it up. Uggla and Car-Go will pick it up and Mauer will be back. I love Stanton too as he is just now 100% and starting to hit. Your team is just battling injuries/funks right now. Latos will be fine.

why on earth do you have Tony Sipp?

Trading Uggla would be a bad move, you're supposed to sell high. See what you can get for Jeff Francoeur, since he won't keep it up, and right now he's pretty damn amazing for what he's probably gonna finish at. Look for upgrades at SS, SP, RP, maybe 3B.

I think your OF will be good with cargo, stanton, morrison, bay.. Russell Martin should be trade bait too, since he looks like he'll actually be pretty solid again.

But it's a long season, good and bad players will usually do what they usually do.

my league has Holds as a stat and Sipp is tied for the lead in the league with 8 holds on the year...

i actually just picked up Francouer yesterday as a FA and let go of Gomes....im thinking of trying to trade him and Martin for Soriano of the Cubs since he is riding some guys bench...but he is a cubs fan, so i doubt he will bite...

i just picked masterson up too. so im not sure people will trade for these guys since nobody really plays around with free agents that much...

yea SS, i had Jeter and now he is a free agent in my league...atleast escobar gets on base...

but ill see what deals i can work...
