It's a great start for sure.
Clutch hitting like last night, and winning 1-0 games like today are great signs for the future. These guys are so young that if they got in a hole early and their confidence got down it could send the season in a downward spiral. I'm looking forward to see if they can keep the mojo going.
ps: droobs is a beast! homerun ftw last night, bunt ftw today 4/7/2011 8:56:10 PM |

Loving this team, and now we are about to get my mancrush Grady Sizemore back. Big four game series at KC this week that will break our tie on top of the central (did I really just say that? ?) 4/16/2011 10:49:25 PM |

WTAM in Cleveland says Sizemore is going to lead off today vs the O's
I'm not in favor of messing with Brantley in the lead off spot. It puts unnecessary pressure on Grady to perform and the top of the lineup is a big reason we're 10-4. The 6 spot would be perfect to work him back in.

Even as a fan, I had no real expectations coming into this season. Last year was just that demoralizing. I'm not sure which is more shocking at this point though, the fact that the Indians have the best record in the AL, or that fact that even with the best record they only hold a 1 game lead in the central, over KC. 4/22/2011 3:54:23 PM |

All three wins were gotten on our last at bat this weekend too. The walk off grand slam, the Cabrera extra inning single, and today the rally in the 8th.
This club can do no wrong at the moment, and it is stunning to watch.

I'll take it, especially on the road. They just haven't looked too comfortable away from Jacob's Field (no I will not call it whatever the new name is) so far this season. Last night's win gives them a 7-6 record on the road which will have to improve. The home record of 13-2 is pretty, but there is no way they can maintain that sort of pace for the entire season.
The longer this goes, the more my hopes actually rise though. It is hard to have a 28 game fluke if you don't actually have a solid team. The most encouraging thing is that everyone has been pitching in instead of just having one or two people get hot and carry the entire load. Over the long run, that is way more sustainable. 5/4/2011 3:33:49 PM |

3-3 on the west coast trip, I'll take that anytime especially going up against and performing really well against two of the hottest pitchers in baseball - weaver and haren. Plus every game was close, time to keep thw home cooking goibg vs the rays.

Could have been worse, but could have been better. Still, a 3-3 split on the road against two decent teams is acceptable. Its taking a little getting used to, but I'm getting more confident with every game that this team has a chance to win every time they take the field. We're 30+ games in now and except for the first two games of the season they've had a chance to win every game in their last few at bats. 5/9/2011 8:25:30 AM |

I really can't wait to see how good this offense can be when Choo, Santana, Grady and Hafner are all healthy and producing.

All it took was them having the best record in baseball and to be playing one of ESPN's two favorite teams to get on the national broadcast. Oh well, at least I got to actually watch them win without having to dig through channels I've never heard of or looking for an internet feed.5/24/2011 8:36:25 AM |

Potential healthy lineup:
Brantley, Sizemore, Cabrera, Hafner, Choo, Santana, Laporta, Hanahan, Cabrera.
Damn that's nasty. All those trades over the past coupe years are looking genius.
A. Cabrera for Eduardo Perez. Sizemore, Cliff Lee, Brandon Phillips for Bartolo Colon. Hell, even Masterson for Victor Martinez doesn't look too shabby. Masterson had some nasty stuff last night...94 mph fastball with a TON of movement.
Go Tribe. 5/24/2011 11:01:54 AM |

been reading up on Drew Pomeranz this morning, kid is going to be a stud when he makes it to the big clubs pitching staff.
Quote : | "Indians prospect Drew Pomeranz didn't make a scheduled start Monday for Single-A Kingston because the Indians are monitoring his innings. The promising young left-hander will skip only one start. Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports that Cleveland will do this occasionally throughout the season to monitor his workload. Pomeranz, 22, has a 2.09 ERA and ridiculous 54/15 K/BB ratio through 38 2/3 innings this season. He was selected out of Ole Miss with the No. 5 pick in June's draft." |
^the jury is still out on the Cliff Lee trade, but Carlos Carrasco and Lou Marson are playing with the big league club already this year, and Jason Donald and Jason Knapp have made appearances since the trade. Not terrible by any means.
also, dont forget about the CC Sabathia trade where the Tribe landed Matt Laporta and Michael Brantley out of that deal. They are both going to be contributors for years
