To finish my degree by August, I'm taking PY 151 and Calc II summer I, and PY 152 and an ag elective summer II.

How badly am I about to get raped? Egler teaches the PY 152 so thats good, but I dunno either of the other teachers.

Driving 5 days a week, 75 miles a day. Great....

Had Bancroft (Erin) for Calc II in summer and she was good. Think it was 10 week though, not 5 week

Its everyday but its better than taking it everyday in the big semester with a bunch of other classes.

i always found that the 5 week every day courses were better for 2 reasons

1. its just easier to remember shit from 5 weeks ago compared to 5 months ago, you know, those random things the prof mentions one time in class that isnt in the book and you didnt study but is still on the test

2. the shorter classes tend to cut a lot out because they simply cannot cover the same amount of material, so its pretty much just what you are going to need to know and not the extra stuff

^definitely my experience.

Also, if its a 4 hour class, you will probably take a test every week which means you just learned everything you are being tested on.

My highest grades came from summer classes and I took 12-13 hours every summer.

why not consider grabbing someone's summer lease so you dont drive as much.

Anyone had experience with getting financial aid in summer sessions? I did my FAFSA last year, and got pretty much a full ride for free due to my eligibility. They say summer stuff is based on last years FAFSA. It would be awesome to get more monies to pay for the $3k tuition bill for summer.

Summer sessions were some of my favorite undergrad experiences. And there is the bonus that you barely have to study for the final exam because everything is still stored in short term memory.

Maybe find a friends place to crash at once in a while so you don't have to drive as much, or look into some online options too. But generally speaking, summer session courses were a very positive experience.

Yeah, all the PE classes I took. Planning a schedule to get to that part of campus and in time to change clothes would have been annoying when trying to shoehorn it into a regular class schedule. And only 5 weeks of dealing with it as opposed to 4 months.

I took water aerobics hoping to scope out the chicks. Turns out that particular water aerobics section was full of guys, mostly on the football team, there for the same reason.

Definitely recommend summer classes. For all the reasons mentioned in the thread. Usually means less work overall and in a concentrated time. Of course I was the type that would start every regular semester thinking "This semester will be different. I'll be organized, study, and stay on top of stuff this time." That never lasted. The good thing about the summer sessions. They were intense but they were always over before I hit that slump.

well you have to take and pass 6 hours over the summer to be eligible for financial aid, and that's if you have any money left over after taking the semester payouts.
