Ok, so I know there is a 99% chance that this thread will be fruitless, but is anyone else going to this show? It seems that ever since they got back together, they've played at really weird venues (like the Arts Center in Carrboro...). My buddy saw them at some restaurant/bar called "The City Winery" in NYC a few months back and they even had a custom wine for the concert.

In b4 Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm.

Honestly, I've never been there. I guess I just meant that it's seemingly a less traditional place to play. I suppose I might have been wrong though.

Just google mapped it, and put two and two together. Didn't realize it was the place right next to Cat's Cradle.

it's much better suited to acoustic/quiet shows than the cradle

stage is lower and more open, ample permanent seating, etc.

^ lol

The show ended up being really good. Brad (the singer) was fucking hilarious in between songs, and both him and Ellen still sound like they do on their earliest records from ~20 years ago.

Also, the Arts Center was a really cool venue. It ended up being a perfect place for a show like that. They had problems with the mics and feedback a handful of times, but overall the sound was good and mixed pretty well.
