they can text your email and then you will have the phone email address. email replies sent to that email will be received as a text.
You can also initiate the conversation if you have their number and carrier. Each carrier has a different domain for phone texts.
If this is not a one off thing and you need to do web-text-web with multiple people, there is a website that offers an ad-supported service. http://www.zeepmobile.com/ However, that will require some software development on your part. 5/15/2011 9:40:41 AM |

I've done this a few times. I just google 'send texts from pc' click on one and go. Be weary I have rcvd a spam text or two. Try to use one that doesn't require your number. 5/15/2011 9:55:33 AM |

what's their carrier? Usually it's just the 10 digit number (area code) plus the carrier's option. Like, for verizon, it's @vtext.com, ATT is @txt.att.net, @messaging.sprintpcs.com, there's a couple of others for the main carriers. 5/15/2011 10:22:29 AM |

You can send it through your email. If their carrier is AT&T send it to number@ATt.com. The same for other carriers. If they reply it will go to your email. 5/15/2011 11:34:13 AM |
