I know how to make mobile barcodes that, when scanned with a smartphone, either link to a website or even a mailto:email@domain.com link, but does anyone know of a way to make a barcode that when scanned would download a vCard to that phone's contacts?
And I know you can scan one phone's contacts into another, but I'm thinking more along the lines of something in print
ok got it, this is pretty cool http://www.barcodevcards.com/

There's also a QR code generator app. But the question is. What app scans that and puts it in your contact? 5/27/2011 8:19:49 PM |

using the site in the OP, my Android's barcode scanner gives you the option to Add Contact (as well as dial number or send email)
try this ] 5/27/2011 8:22:02 PM |

Im trying to find one in the iphone store. I found a reader that works but it doesnt import it into contacts. The one qr to contacts app I tried didn't recognize the qr.
John Smith lol
Granted I'm trying the free ones, but I wanna try it free before I put down that dollar buck. 5/27/2011 8:29:10 PM |

android store has a free one called Barcode Scanner, but i dont know how much of the import to contacts is based on the android OS versus the app
you'd think there would be at least one free one in the istore since these barcodes are popping up more and more nowadays 5/27/2011 8:36:21 PM |

The google app for the iPhone will scan that and gives you the option to add the info to your contacts. 5/27/2011 8:40:39 PM |

im trying to find if it's legitimately possible to take a QR code and translate it w/o a scanner
i.e. use a formula that the programs have coded to do it manually, for the hell of it
http://www.denso-wave.com/qrcode/qrfeature-e.html is interesting though] 5/27/2011 9:19:51 PM |
