You may have heard, Congressman Anthony Weiner unintentionally publicly posted a picture of his underwear on his twitter account. What I want to know is:

how do you do this?

I mean, I didn't know that you could send private messages on Twitter. And even if you can, how do you slip and hit the "Tweet" button instead? Really, it just doesn't make any sense to me. How do you possibly self pwn that bad? I just don't understand what people are claiming he unintentionally did.

Someone please explain this to me.

Brietbart actually managed to get one right for a change. I think it was an accident on his part.

Weiner acted like, well, a Weiner. Besides his wife and the woman involved nobody should give a crap about him sending crotch shots over Twitter (although, damn, politicians need to know better than using twitter by themselves) but lying about it is another matter completely.

I love energetic smart elegant women like that (and even more so when they are young and beautiful).

However, I wouldn't want a woman like that for a wife though. I want my wife to work the same number of hours as I do, or less. She probably puts in 60 hours a week regularly, and travels a shitload as well.

A congressman resigns because he lied about sexting. Not only is that fucking ridiculous, but now we have one less legislator who knows how to use a computer.

Consider David Vitter. He's a Louisiana Senator, and in 2007, it was revealed that he had sex with several prostitutes. Yet, he is still in office, and I doubt anyone outside Louisiana has heard of him.

Vitter didn't lie about it. He didn't call his whores instructing them on how to lie to the press. He simply released a very strong apology even before the story broke fully. Which us exactly what Weiner should've done, rather than blaming "hackers" and smugly joking about the whole affair.

Weiner was forced out because of his lying and hubris throughout the ordeal.

No, the whole affair was a joke. He should have declined to comment instead of blaming hackers. He did dig himself too deep, but I doubt any congressman (or average citizen) would have done differently. Vitter had no other choice than to apologize; he couldn't dismiss the amount of evidence against him. He probably doesn't even know what "hacker" means.

So the fact that Weiner lied about exchanging PG13 pictures with adult women makes him worse than a man who had actual sexual relations and broke actual laws? It's not like he tried to cover up sexual exploits with congressional pages - it was mere internet flirtation.

The guy is liar, a narcissist and a hyperbolic troll. We don't need people like that in Congress.

As for Vitter, the fact that he's not well-known, along with his prompt apology, saved his job. Plus there aren't embarrassing pictures and chat transcripts between him and his whores floating around.
