Well, DDOS'd at least. These are either the dumbest kids on the planet or this is really just the government drumming up support for draconian internet regulations.

Can we get a qualifier on 'very soon' so we know how long nothing that can reasonably be linked to this non-event and reasonably referred to as 'for political gain' has to happen before your incredibly ambiguous statement could be falsified?

couple of things:
1) the cia isnt dumb enough (i would hope) to keep anything actually valuable on cia.gov. Its just a public information site so anything worth stealing is available to the public anyways.
2) ddos attacks arent hacking, they're just dumb baby shit. cia.gov not being able to survive a ddos is pretty "meh". Its not critical in any sense and if they really wanted to they could spend tax payer money to invest in some better network gear. I'd rather they didnt.
