You all are thinking about this from a system point of view. This is the wrong way to go about solving this problem. Instead, you all should be thinking about this from the perspective of the most popular and powerful COMPONENTS.
So, what components are most successful among living creatures?
large brain to body ratio this means the creature would also have to have something to protect this brain
sharp teeth this creature would have to have a large mouth... kind of like chocolatervh
large dangly parts and over-enthused sex drive kind of like theDuke866 and Ron Jeremy come to mind
