It always amazes me how almost every performer, every band, and every event organizer proclaims themselves or their event as the "The Best In Raleigh", "The Best In the Triangle", or "The Best In The Southeast". We all see it here on craigslist; just take a quick look at the recent posts and you'll see at least 2 of them claiming to offer "The Best Open Mic In Town".
For another example, read some of the band promo's at the website for an agency such as East Coast Entertainment. Half the bands listed there are "The East Coast's Best Party Band!".
Fact: there can be only one best in any defined category. And, given the number of performers and events out there, the likelihood that you, your band, or your event is numero uno is not very good. Give in to that reality.
However, if you still feel the irresistible urge to claim that position please try to ensure that you, your band, or your event are at least GOOD. Too many of the "Best...!" bands I've seen and the open mics I've attended were a long way from even being in the top 5.

It appears that this is the type of quality work and internet craft of our good friend Greg Hyer. 7/13/2011 1:31:36 PM |

i dont see anything in it other than some dude's opinion, an opinion I agree with
it is also a fairly obvious opinion and it really does not change my life or persective in anyway
therefore i would not be so simple as to worry about who might have written it. 7/13/2011 1:32:26 PM |

I wonder if Harry Jones is merely a craigslist alias of Greg Hyer, as Greg Hyer is smart and does not want to publicly post his information. 7/13/2011 1:32:47 PM |
