So i just bought a new 3D TV and i'm getting 2 pair of active 3D glasses free with it. I originally was going to hold off on getting the 3D glasses, but since they are coming I figure I may as well get a few 3D movies to go with it. Are any of you watching a lot of 3D content or have any recommendations on what movies may best show off the technology?

I know Avatar is a choice and i've heard some decent things about Tron and How to Train Your Dragon as well. but i think HtTYD is only available through Samsung's 3D bundle and I just bought a Sony.

Shit, i thought i put this in Entertainment. It probably needs to be moved

huge. this film was a praised for it's use of 3D and has been named one of the best yet for the technology.

I've also heard good things about Tangled, though it's a story I have zero interest in.

i don't have a problem with certain films wanting to enhance the experience with 3D. But if it's going to be done it needs to be done from the beginning. The worst thing about the trend is post conversion. Especially for films that had no intention of 3D and rush the process to cash in on the excitement (Clash of the Titans for example). The other bad thing is films that have no reason being in 3D and throw in a few "pop" scenes in order to use the technology. The best ones use 3D to bring depth to the world and some are actually great visual experiences.

should every film be in 3D? absolutely not. Not even every action or adventure film should be.
