Thundercats always had a really poor bad guy/drama ratio.

What I mean is, for a series to have any dramatic tension, the bad guys have to either be more powerful individually than the heroes, or be more numerous.

The Thundercats were better than all of the enemies, and they outnumbered them. There wasn't any drama because the bad guys were always so outclassed.

If it weren't for the fact that it's clearly geared towards kids, with the no-blood violence and mega-robots, I'd be super pumped about this.

Exposure to technology is going to be a significant plot point in this new series. The cats are, by and large, not familiar with tech at all. The lizards and other monsters apparently get tech from Mumm-Ra and they start using it against the cats to turn the balance of power.

I just saw the trailer - the computer models of the mechs looked really, really out of place with the rest of the animation style. Did they clean it up a bit?

I didn't like last night's episode all that much. Lion-O acted like a real dick at times (really? You're going to leave two children of your own people to starve?), although I'll give him a free pass since his home is destroyed and his father is dead. But I don't really understand what his obsession was with the monster-of-the-week. I also don't understand why Cheetara and Tigra didn't smack him upside the head; they certainly looked like they wanted to. Last but not least, the thunder kittens are kind of annoying, but I'll give them some props for not being completely helpless.

Not a very strong episode, imo, but it's only the second episode. I've got a good feeling about this show, and think that it will hit its stride if given the chance.

^I'm kind of getting an "Avatar: The Last Airbender" vibe from this show, so the characters will probably come together over time. I'm guessing that Panthro will appear within another 2-4 episodes.

Agreed, this episode was a real let-down after the premiere was so impressive. Still, I'm not about to give up on it. Not even remotely.
