http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/6818918/duke-blue-devils-eye-possible-mike-krzyzewski-recruiting-violation
Quote : | "Duke is investigating whether an NCAA recruiting rule was violated when coach Mike Krzyzewski reportedly offered a scholarship to a recruit during a summer tournament.
Forward Alex Poythress told CBSSports.com that Krzyzewski spoke to him earlier this week while he was in Orlando, Fla., for a tournament with his AAU team, the Georgia Stars, and offered him a scholarship.
NCAA rules prevent coaches from contacting recruits before they are finished playing in tournaments." |

We all know how this ends.
NCAA investigator knocks on Ks door. K waves his hand infront of his face saying, "violations? What violations?" investigator leaves and that's that. 7/30/2011 10:19:26 PM |

this is probably nothing, and certainly nothing near the magnitude of UNC football
however i've been enjoying over the last year, when responding to questions of where I went to college, saying NC State and clarifying that it was the North Carolina university thats football program was not currently under investigation by the NCAA
now I can say the tobacco road university thats not under investigation by the NCAA] 7/30/2011 10:41:26 PM |

Pretty minor but I hate the holier than thou aura I get from Duke fans (well mostly from one website).
Doubt this is any problem considering the NCAA let them keep a whole season intact when using an ineligible player.

Meanwhile, UNC got slapped with 9 major violations and ESPN didn't report on it until they fired Butch Davis 7/31/2011 2:34:08 PM |

Yeah considering the Maggette and Duhon incidents never touched them and the alleged point shaving in the 80's got covered up I don't see this going anywhere beyond maybe Duke not being allowed to recruit this player.
I mean hell just look at Duke's assistants Quinn Snyder and Tommy Amaker, both well known dirty recruiters. Where do you think they learned their craft? And yet this is the first recruiting violation anyone has stumbled on in 30 years??? 7/31/2011 9:07:29 PM |
