Got a ~4 year old Toshiba that is running out of juice in about 60 minutes. Are there any reputable non OEM places to get replacements or is it best to just pony up? 7/31/2011 3:34:55 PM |

i have found and used some good non-oem batteries for Dell laptops on amazon.com... a lot cheaper than going through the manufacturer... would check that out first 7/31/2011 3:52:01 PM |

the trick with used batteries esp lithium is to avoid NOS (new old stock).
Even if its Toshiba oem never been put in a computer before it will perform pretty crappy compared to a 6 month old battery. 7/31/2011 11:37:54 PM |

Same here. I bought a random 9 cell off ebay for my old Dell, and it's been working great. at least 50% more battery life than the OEM. just watch the feedback ratings (open up all their ratings and search/control-f for your battery), and you should be fine8/1/2011 9:45:17 AM |
