it is legal, if i have the card, as long as i don't get caught buying it.

the guys down the streets are mostly monks though, so i don't know if that'd go over.

I lived in Walnut Creek and worked in the Financial District for 3.5 years... And gladly moved back here. That's not to say it wasn't amazing to experience living in that area though...

Exactly. She HATES the cost of living out there. They could have bought a house on her salary if they were here. Instead they rent a 1 bedroom for double what I'll be paying for a mortgage. She also thinks that a lot of the people out there are smug know-it-alls that get hard ons bragging about their latest dieting craze lol.

Mountain View is pretty nice, but the San Jose area generally sucks ass.

It's plenty sunny in the East Bay. Honestly, I think the weather is nicer in Oakland than San Diego minus maybe one or two months out of the year

Golden State 4 Life.

We talk about moving out there all the time. My wife's sister is in the Valley and I have family in Sacramento. Money's not a problem, since we don't give a shit about having a condo or a big house or expensive alcohol or country club membership or anything like that. Hell, we already live in one of the top 10 most expensive cities in America. Depending on what city we lived in, we might actually save money. I tried to convince my wife to take a transfer to San Jose, but then I got this job in DC, so we'll just wait until I get sick of it here and try again later.

You have to designate between regions, though. NorCal can be great or really annoyingly hippified. The Valley can be quaint or a hellhole. LA can be fun or the most stressful place on earth.

The economy and job market are pretty shitty right now, but it'll bounce back at some point. The food, weather, and scenery will never get old though

All that fancy dispensary stuff is nice, but honestly the best is the hillbilly humboldt county homegrown stuff.

My aunt and uncle used to live near Modesto (east of Oakland, San Jose). Said the state was a shit hole and couldn't be happier to get out of there.

I can't decide which sucks worse: Stockton, Modesto, or Bakersfield?

They are all such horribly depressing places

California is a huge state though. Generally the closer you are to the coast or sierras the nicer it is

add Visalia to that list. They all remind me more of NC but more dusty. Just lots of spread out land and farming and ag...

I'm curious to know what California is going to do about the hundreds of unfunded billions they're obligated to. Or about their anti-business policies that are driving companies away.

The last time I checked, the rest of the nation isn't doing too well either.

It's sunny and 65 degrees, so think I'll go for a run around Lake Merritt and try not to cry myself to sleep tonight
