Your dog is scratching his ear which is making it red. No huge deal. Move along. 8/17/2011 8:14:54 PM |

Dog must have some long arms to be reaching around that cone and scratching his ears. 8/17/2011 8:15:02 PM |

it's a common condition called Sympathetic Neuter Ear, where one or both ears of a canine become inflamed due to the sudden hormonal imbalance, which leads to a body heat venting issue that leads to too much blood pushing through the thin membranes of the ear 8/17/2011 8:15:30 PM |

Dogs, like humans, can scratch both the inside and outside of their ear. Cats can do it too for future reference. 8/17/2011 9:36:30 PM |

My dog gets yeast infections in his ear sometimes.
He's a basset hound, so the heavy ears don't allow for much ventilation.
One gets all red and itches him like crazy. 8/17/2011 9:56:58 PM |
