When a meteor shower destroys the Space Shuttle Atlantis and bombards parts of New York City, NASA discovers a Texas-sized asteroid will collide with Earth in 18 days, creating another extinction event. With the military, NASA scientists, led by Dan Truman (Billy Bob Thornton) plan to embed a nuclear device 800 feet within the asteroid that, when ignited, will split the asteroid in two parts that will both safely fly past the Earth. NASA contacts Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis), considered the best deep-sea oil driller in the world. Harry returns to NASA along with his daughter Grace (Liv Tyler) to keep her away from one of his young and more rambunctious drillers, A. J. Frost (Ben Affleck), who has fallen in love with her much to Harry's dismay. Harry and Grace learn of the critical issues of the asteroid, and Harry explains he will need his team members, including A. J., to help advise NASA. Once they have been rounded up, Harry's team offers to help but only after being assured of being rewarded from an esoteric list of demands.

Hurricane is fine. We've got adequate food and water and a ceramic water filter, and nearly a dozen chickens for protein. I'll just be annoyed if I have to put the chickens inside if they are in danger of getting blown away. Definitely be annoyed if my garden is destroyed by high winds.

I recommend stocking up on weapons and ammo. And Vienna sausages. Those things rock! Gotta prepare for the return of Zombie Jesus!

This time, he's turning water into wine ... And innocent children into flesh-eating monsters!

100lbs of rice...

Not included are medical and hygiene supplies (Antibiotics, pain killers, allergy meds, ointments, patches, pads/band-aids, alcohol, peroxide, witch's hazel, tooth paste, tooth brushes, floss, body wash, deodorant, shampoo). I also have spare shingles and other misc. materials for small home repair. Various utility items such as lighters and four 55 gallon rain barrels. I also have 1500+ rnds of .40 and will soon have 5000 rnds of .22lr for defense/hunting. I should be picking up a .308 and/or shotgun soon. I still need to pick up some coleman lanterns, propane canisters, and a coleman stove as well as various seeds for a garden.

Oh and thanks for posting that pic. of evaporated milk... Can't have all that cereal without milk!!!!1

I wouldn't really call them freak disasters... they're more like "natural" disasters
